We’re doing very well and Sabine is producing some nice red fish.  With all the rain we had, along with all the freshwater coming down, tides raised up 2 feet above normal levels and the freshwater got pushed back into the marshes.  This pulled out all the bait and we started catching limits of redfish and some speckled trout mixed in.

Fishing over the birds  are lots of shrimp in the lake,  that went on for about two weeks and we’re still catching some nice trout and redfish in Sabine Lake.  Birds are working early in the morning and late in the evening,  best bait  three-quarter ounce gold spoon. We’ve been doing very well catching redfish and nicer speckled trout on the bottom.  We are catching some beautiful redfish on the points in the drops in the Bayou and also some speckled trout and flounder.

We are making long drifts throwing quarter ounce jig with watermelon red chart tail and 5 inch baits.  We are following the morning glory chart,  catching some nice trout on incoming tide.  Early morning when the tide switches about noon the bites on for about another two hours.  We’re fishing the tide and we are catching some nice redfish and some trout at the jetties by showing up in the early morning. We’re using  poppers along the rocks also catching sheephead and drum with Shrimp,

A Carolina rig is works well in June so wear are going to have a great month!  Sabine Lake is fishing very well even though we have freshwater coming down from the south end of the lake and it makes it salty.   We will keep you updated on the Trout catches, it should be outstanding
