We have reached a transition period in early November in Sabine Lake we are beginning to get cold fronts with some northwest wind that are flushing bait from the marsh out into the lake. We have been catching good numbers of speckled trout and redfish on the north end of Sabine Lake from west pass to coffee ground cove. We are catching them on D.O.A. 3″ CAL shad tail. In clear water the pearl chartreuse color is the ticket in darker water Tx croaker does the trick. As those temps drop my preference will always be to wade for the larger trout. When wading and fishing slower I like to fish the D.O.A. bait buster in near clear/chartreuse and silver glitter black back, remember these bigger fish eat bigger mullet match the hatch. I would also like to mention that our wonderful sponsors from Okuma sent us a batch of the new DTR inshore series rods and we are very impressed with the overall quality of the rods. They are feather light with extra fast tips to feel the slightest trout tickle and have enough back bone to haul in those bruiser redfish.
As for the flounder they are beginning to show in there usual areas in the marsh drains in the lake and in the channel. Temps are still a little high and as the fronts become a little bigger and more frequent so will there numbers.
